Your decking requirements will be very individual and almost certainly a bespoke enquiry relating to your own individual needs depending on many factors. Just about every decking system we produce and install are one-offs.
As an example of our work, please see here some pictures of a decking system we were recently asked to install around a summer house by one of our customers.
This particular deck measures 5100mm ( approx 17') across the front of the building and 4800mm (approx 16') from the front of the deck system to the rear. The width of the deck system along the side of the summer house is 1700mm (5' 7")
The ground around the summerhouse was very uneven and also held large amount of water following our all too regular heavy rainfall. This deck system provided a very strong and sturdy raised platform around the summerhouse and so the rainfall is of no concern to the owners of this summerhouse any longer.
As with anything we manufacture or install we use only the finest of products available. This system utilised 50 x 100 joists (2" x4") and 32x150 ( 1 1/4 x 6) deckboards. All timbers were fully pressure treated for a very long life. The deckboards we use are of excellent quality and are manufactured from joinery grade redwood timbers, they are a very solid 32mm thick and 150mm in width. The profile is "fluted" giving drainage for the rain. All joists are sprit levelled on installation to give a very stable, level & sturdy platform.
The whole system here has been screwed together. It takes us much longer than nailing but we believe it makes for a far superior system.
