Here is one example of the many types of driveway gates we have made to suit our customers exact requirements. The span on these particular gates is 4.5 metres or almost 15' The height of the gates themselves is 5' at the post edge and 6' to the middle high point. On these gates our customer requested a shaped top but we can also make them with flat tops or any other style you may prefer. The timber boards on these gates is a very very heavy duty ex 1" tongue & groove loglap. The frame work is also very strong. It is ex 2" x 3" CLS and has been very well braced. This ensures the gates do not drop or sag, which is a common problem with poorly manufactured and installed gates. These gates are extremely heavy and so we have also supplied very heavy duty posts and hinges to take their weight. The posts we use are fully pressure treated in a big size of 8" x 8" square. They are 8' in length - 2' of which was concreted into the ground leaving 6' above ground to hang the gates on. Very heavy duty galvanised fittings have been used throughout. Due to the weight of the gates we have used 3' long heavy duty hinges. Both gates lock into the floor and into each other. This gives a very sturdy set of gates. We have stained these gates in our usual high quality industrial white spirit based wood preservative. We deliver & install nationwide - please enquire.
